INSTALLATION GUIDE
It is important that the AstroTurf® is laid onto a base that drains freely. Poorly drained substrates may encourage moss growth. Such poorly draining areas should have a base laid to a fall with a minimum grade of 1:100 to help remove surface water.
Ideally AstroTurf® should be laid on a well graded, compacted aggregate with a range of sizes from about 14 mm to dust. This will assist with drainage and laid properly will provide a smooth substrate for installation of the surface. If the initial base preparation is uneven then over time unevenness of the substrate will show through the AstroTurf® surface.
AstroTurf® can be loose laid, which is ideal for temporary solutions. However, for more permanent fixing, it is advisable to have an edge restraint - for example timber edging, concrete edging or retaining wall. The carpet strips should be securely fixed and neatly trimmed to edging or support.
If jointing is required, this can be carried out as directed on EnviroStik Web site - www.envirostik.com.
